Under the Sea Bday Party

It started with a submarine invitation that I designed on my Silhouette.
I love how it turned out.

I was lucky to be able to use the waves from the VBS program that I posted about earlier.
It really transformed our main floor into the sea!

From there I went to Pinterest to get some ideas :)
The seaweed hanging down turned out better than I expected.
I pinned strips of packing tape to the ceiling and, like fly tape,
I stuck up each strip of streamer.

This cute little octopus was another Pinterest idea.

The submarines on the straws I think I made with my Silhouette again.

I'm not a baker and this was the easy way out for me :)
The kids love them just as much if not more because of the candies.

Saw this on Pinterest except they found a much lighter blue jello. I was disappointed that you couldn't see the candy fish I wedged into the jello after it hardened.

Another Pinterest idea...put the frozen yogurt in too soon.

The crafts I found on Pinterest and the mom's had more fun then the kids putting them together I think.
Aren't they cute!

I can't seem to find my inspiration for the submarine sandwiches and fish in blueberries/water.
Ignore the double chin....I'm pregnant remember :)

After lots of shopping I came up with these party favors.
ocean creature bath toy
dolphin soap bar
little wash cloth
pack of gold fish crackers
plastic fish toy
The octopus on top is a covered lollipop with pipe-cleaner legs.
They were fun to make.

A great success and tons of fun for the little group of toddlers that came :)

The Boys' Rooms

NURSERY

I finally finished the nursery!!! Decided to give my toddler a new room and just tweak his old one for the new baby.

Empty frames awaiting pics of our baby to be!

This is my Pinterest inspired wall. I saw this idea for stuffies and had to try it. Found the baskets at a garage sale for a dollar each. It would be better to find baskets with smaller spaces between the metal frame work though.
Found these matching storage boxes on clearance at Ikea!

Three art piece I finally finished for the room. Took forever to get the chevron right with painters tape and a ruler...and then to mix the right green paint! Oh my.... The Bible verse I cut with my silhouette and glued to the primed canvas. I love them as a set.

My friend gave me these lanterns and I used my silhouette to cut out the cute little elephants and I strung them with fishing line.

Another awesome friend made this elephant pillow as a gift for baby and it is perfect. It is actually exactly what I wanted, like she read my mind....or maybe my pinterest comments :) The chair is Ikea and sadly, it doesn't glide or recline but it just suits the room perfectly.

The vinyl phrase was $1 at the dollar store! Gotta love that.

I am so blessed to have such generous friends. The white leather ottoman is one of my favorite gifts ever! It is hard to see the stitched detail on top but trust me it is fabulous.
The rug is another pop of green from Ikea!

TODDLER ROOM
Here it is with the blinds closed so you can see the awesome banner my friend Nicole made for me. I love, love, love it!

This lighting is a little better. The birch wall decals I purchased on E-bay for $50 including shipping. The owls are just paper I cut using my Silhouette machine. The book shelves are actually picture ledges from Ikea. I saw this idea for them on Pinterest of course :)

Another Ikea purchase. I love all the Expedit units they sell.
I am awaiting another picture ledge to put the art work up on the wall.

I painted this canvas by mixing the paint as I went and then cut out the letters with my Silhouette. Finally I glued them on with Mod Podge and then gave it another coat on top to give it a glossy finish. I love how it turned out.

This mobile was made by the same friend who made the banner. Is it not the coolest thing?!

Found this owl at Walmart and spray painted it!

Yes another gift from the friend who made the elephant pillow for the nursery! I seriously do have the most creative and generous friends :)

I have tons of these logs in my garage. I've been finding lots of uses for them besides burning them in the fireplace.

Stitched a felt "I" on this pillow as it is my toddlers initial.

Found some perfect fabric to make a curtain. Teal on one side and yellow on the other. I am planning to make a bean bag chair out of the same fabric for the room.

Finally, I bought this mirror at a garage sale and painted it to match the room. I like the round shape with the theme of "You are my sunshine." I still need to get it hung up though.

Baby Shower

A while ago now, I threw a baby shower for 3 baby boys that were born into 3 separate families in our church. I of course did a teal and green color theme with the Bible verse "Every good and perfect gift is from above," as my inspiration! Here are the pics :)

Onesie shape cut with my Silhouette!
Tissue paper clouds hung above the food table.
Made with streamers of all things :)
10 little napkins for this one.
Little clouds cut with my Silhouette of course.
Favors I had to design in Publisher.

Yes it was a lot of work but so worth it for my sweet little baby friends!

Gift Wrapping

UPCYCLE
