My Current Favorite Handmade Cards

Perfectly Preserved

Yes it is retired but I have yet to order my current fall favorites from Stampin' Up's 2014 Holiday Catalogue! I was inspired to make this card by one I found on Pinterest by Barb. I love the challenge of finding a beautiful card and recreating it with supplies I already have on hand.

I have not totally jumped on the watercolor band wagon. Although I do love the look, I feel like I have so many options already and to add a new set of products and supplies is a bit much right now. So I tried a different technique to get the same look using tools I already own!

I wish you could see how glittery the pears are! They just shimmer :) So here is what I did. I inked my pear in Pear Pizzaz and then touched the edges in Old Olive. Then I sprayed directly on the inked stamp with a shimmer mist! After that I just stamped it on the card and voila! I LOVE it! I used my aqua painter to pick up Chocolate Chip ink from the pad and painted on the stems. I made the splatters with an aqua painter too by picking up some ink off the pad and squeezing gently before knocking it above my card front. Hope you like it!

OK here is my other current favorite.

Now this one I will do a video for because I used something super unexpected!
Are you curious?!? I hope so! Stay tuned :)

Crayons!

Have you seen this idea online yet?
I had to try it right away and it works wonderfully!

Cut crayons into small chunks and place in a rubber ice cube tray.
Put in the over at 230 degrees for 15 minutes!

The set in the tin I made for my niece for Christmas but the real reason I made them was to give out to the kids at church. I had a Christmas story about a special little lamb to share for children's story and wanted to give them something that would help them remember it by. This was my solution. I cut the little lambs out with my Silhouette machine and used a glue dot to attach the homemade crayons.

They were a big hit!

The best part is that you can get those ice cube trays in so many fun shapes! Alphabet, fish, bugs etc. Perfect for party favors too! And super easy and cheap :)

Paper Birdhouse

Want to give something a little extra?
Maybe you don't feel like making yet another card.
Well, try this out :)

??????????????????????????????????????????????

OK sneak peak!

And here is how...

Recap...

Cut on the solid lines and score on the dashed lines.
1. Fold scored edges inward.
2. Glue patterned side of tabs.
3. Fold up to make a box.
4. Fold flap over.
5. Fold roof over and glue down.

6. Make a separate roof.
2in x 5in
Scored in the middle at 2.5in
Glue over existing roof.
