I use my sewing machine mostly for paper as you know but once in a while I like to make a fabric ruffle for this or that. It is so easy and yet so stunning when finished. For this project I had two kinda boring silver pillows and I was in need of a centre piece for my spare bed. Well why not turn two boring pillows into one stunning one with a little ruffle work!
OK so it has been months...and months. Well, after being away all summer I came home just in time to start my morning sickness or should I say all day nausea and headaches. Didn't have the energy to keep up with my blogging. I am 24 weeks now and sick with an eternal cough. At least the morning sickness is over and I am functioning again! Ok so I've been functioning for a while just not blogging. Anyway, I thought I would post some of my latest projects.
Thought I would decorate for Valentine's this year! First time ever :)
The banner was so easy to make. I found an old Hymnal at a second hand store and cut out tons of hearts from it's pages. I was able to cut quite a few at a time. Then I just fed them through the sewing machine two at a time to stitch them together. Like I said soooo easy but I love how they look!
Today I taught a card making class here at home and combined it with a play date for mom's with kiddos like myself. Evenings are hard to get together some times but crafting while the kids played worked out fabulously. Here are the projects we completed.
The next pic is what I am putting in my valentines this year!
Isn't he the cutest!
While everything is red here are a few other projects:
Sorry about the crazy lighting!
One Last Thing
One of my super stampin up friends came for a visit a few weeks ago and brought a tons of her products which I took advantage of! Thanks Rena :) I die cut a ton of scalloped squares in my favourite fabrics so that I could make these....OK so I've only made one but I can make many more!
I got the idea straight from the Stampin Up catalogue. I just love it!
This week our church is putting on an amazing Vacation Bible School program called The High Seas. Our church was transformed into a pirate ship at sea for this special event. It looks absolutely amazing! Check it out.
I was asked to design a card for the kids to make and it turned out so cute that I made 15 more as thank you's for the volunteers. It took a lot of time but was so worth it. I thought this week I would do a tutorial on this very card! I hope you like it :)
Here is the finished layout from last week along with it's corresponding page! There are close ups later in this post. This week I am going to highlight three of my favorite tools which I used in the above layouts and in today's layout.
I always like to see what other's can't craft without and so I thought I'd share my faves. Please leave me a comment and let me know what you could not craft without!
Here is a pic of the layout from the video.
Here are close ups of last weeks layouts completed.
Since I will be away form home for the next month and a half, I am sad to say that there will be no new posts for that period of time. We are off to camp and then vacation with the family! It is going to be busy but awesome!
Have a great summer but don't forget about me :) I'll be back!
